The Six Endeavors
The Endeavors are the practical commitments that Teams of Our Lady members take on to deepen their spiritual life and strengthen their marriage. They are not obligations imposed from outside, but freely chosen steps toward holiness.
1. Daily Personal Prayer
Each spouse commits to a time of personal prayer each day. This might be meditation, Scripture reading, the Rosary, or simply quiet time with the Lord. The key is faithfulness — even a few minutes, done consistently, transforms the soul.
2. Daily Couple Prayer
Husband and wife pray together each day, even briefly. This shared prayer — which can be as simple as a decade of the Rosary, a spontaneous prayer, or reading a Scripture passage together — becomes the heartbeat of your marriage.
3. Daily Scripture Reading (Listening to the Word)
Spend time each day with Sacred Scripture. Read slowly, listen for what God is saying to you, and let His word shape your day. Even five minutes with the daily readings is a powerful practice.
4. The Sit-Down
Once a month, husband and wife sit down together to honestly review their life — their prayer, their marriage, their family, their faithfulness to the Endeavors. This is not a time for criticism but for mutual encouragement and honest conversation about where God is leading your family.
5. Rule of Life
Each member chooses a concrete, personal resolution to work on — something specific that helps them grow. It should be challenging but achievable, reviewed regularly, and shared with your team for accountability.
6. Annual Retreat
Once a year, make time for an extended period of prayer and reflection — a retreat, a pilgrimage, or dedicated days of recollection. This annual renewal refreshes your commitment and deepens your relationship with God.
